Astea Mobile integrates with Alliance and FieldCentrix solutions to replace traditional paper-based, manual field service processes with a standardized, automated, and more efficient workflow. It enables global mobile workforces to access real-time information via wireless connectivity, allowing personnel to obtain essential data precisely when and where it is needed. This capability aims to address inefficiencies, improve customer service quality, and enhance service margins and contract profitability.

Throughout the scheduling process, work orders trigger automatic notifications to the appropriate field engineers through their wired or wireless devices. Service technicians arrive at their jobs equipped with comprehensive information necessary for task completion, including customer account details, job site data, equipment history, and contract or warranty information—all accessible instantly onsite.

The system facilitates wireless transmission of work orders from the office, encapsulating all relevant job-related information that can be retrieved at the press of a button. Technicians are empowered to capture and submit service ticket details digitally, eliminating the need for physical paperwork and manual data entry into back-office systems. They can also review and accept job assignments directly on their mobile devices, which enhances productivity and reduces response times.

Astea Mobile additionally provides technicians with tools to manage their schedules independently while keeping the home office updated in real-time. The solution supports comprehensive parts management, allowing field technicians to log parts used in each work order, request additional parts not available in their vehicle stock, monitor inventory levels within their vans, and coordinate the return or shipment of parts for warranty or vendor claims. Optional GPS tracking further enhances operational efficiency by enabling back-office users to view the current location of technicians for better scheduling—this remains functional even when the application runs in the background. Such capabilities help optimize routes, minimize travel time and distances between jobs, and improve resource allocation.
